HSC Instructor Renewal

How long before your card expired did you guys get your renewal paperwork? My expiration is coming up and I want to ensure it doesn't lapse.

I'm guessing it is on you to seek out a new card. Did you check the HSC manual? Must be something in there about it.

I reached out to Bill Tidwell who I got my original HSC from and he told me DOJ was supposed to send me the renewal paperwork. I'll try contacting DOJ directly this time around.

Good to know. I have a couple years yet, but now I know what to expect. I got mine from Bill as well.

Just mailed my FFL renewal yesterday. Hard to believe it's been almost three years.

I got a renewal letter from DOJ about 6 weeks prior to the expiration of my card. You simply send in a check with $22 to renew your certification. It took the full 6 weeks for them to get it back to me. Others in the shop never received the renewal letter. I believe there is a link on their website where you can download a renewal form and send it in if you haven't received it yet.
