COE / CFD Timelines?

Just got my license from the ATF. Following that, I went to apply for the COE by doing the prints at the live scan and sent my form in.

Any idea how long this generally takes? From there, I guess I need to get my CFD (any timeline on that?).

Hoping to be able to sell soon. I'm just not sure how long it will take to do the California side of the paperwork.

My COE just took 5 weeks. Sent march 6 got it April 15.

You should have done the COE when you applied for the FFL. FFL is not a prerequisite for issuance. DOJ has 30 days from receipt to process CFD applications, but it usually takes less, especially if it is not around the new year renewal time. (One woman processes all of them) Just be sure you send it to the right address. Three years ago there was a version of the app with an old address. The forwarding order was expired and it took the post office THREE WEEKS to return my envelope. That put me almost a month behind for my opening date....

I could of sworn I had to put my FFL # on that COE application. I'm at work so I can't look. If I didn't need to, then darn, yeah I should have. =/

I think there is a spot for it, but I wrote something like "pending". You definitely don't have to have an FFL in your name, because employees can get COE's as an assurance to an employer that they are not prohibited.

25 MAY 2014 – CA & FBI responses completed
27 MAY 2014 – Approval letter and certificate dated
01 JUN 2014 – Received approval letter and certificate

Total Time: 4 weeks (28 days)

I had to send it back for a phone number missing a digit -_-. I'm thinking they should have all my print responses back already since that was done a while ago lol.
