    Off roster 1911 frames

So I would like to build a 1911 or two (father son builds) and I'm having more trouble than I thought I would. There are 2 makers of 80% frames (kto, tactical machining) I don't particularly like the style. I'm looking for a traditional frame.
They don't have to be 80% frames I like the looks of caspian, sti, fusion. Is there any way to get these in California?
    Thanks in advance

Technically, the frame is the registerable portion of the gun. Unfortunately, this is also what is required to be on the DOJ list of firearms certified for sale. So, to answer your question, no, Caspian, STI and similar frames cannot be sent onto the state.

A vendor here is making 80% sti 2011 frames, they are very nice. Look for the limited-10 posts
The tactical machining frame when available is very similar to the standard frame, just a little rail cut on the front. You could modify it to suit your requirements.
