4473 NICS section

Hello,

I am a 01 FFL that normally only sells out of state so I don't do 4473s. I was wondering since we in CA use DROS, what do we fill in on blocks 21a through 21f? and also what is to be written in block 23 if I do a LEO sale with a department letter?

You fill in the information regarding the DROS, the date that you submit it and the DROS number.

As for block 23, there is no exemption for CA since the DROS records the firearm information and the owner information and a DROS always has to be done when a firearm is transferred to a person.

You can have an exemption to the waiting period, but not the DROS.
