UPIN on DROS ?

Hello, I was wondering if there was a place for the UPIN when a CA FFL completes the DROS on the computer.

I was under the impression that there was, and I have used a UPIN on several purchases and always point out to the FFL that I am putting a UPIN on the form in the box that requests it, but yesterday I do a DROS for a new rifle and the guy processing my paperwork tells me there is no place for him to enter the UPIN on the DROS system? Thanks for any info!

I think the 4473 still has a space for it. Not sure about the DROS though.

There is no place for it on the DROS, except for the comment field. It generally isn't needed as the DROS is based on the CA ID/DL, which should be unique. It might be helpful if there is an issue with the check with the Feds.

For the 4473, when a NICS check is used in other states, not CA, then it can be given.
