Windows XP no longer supported by Windows!!

Come April 9th, Windows will no longer support Windows XP...! There are a whole lot of potential horror stories with that!

Is anyone having any problems with Windows 8.1 which is the current operating system offered by Microsoft and how it works with the DES system??

You can use any browser under any OS now, so Linux, Mac, etc. all work.

This could be a disaster. Most financial services companies run XP as do many utilities, and ATM machines, lets not forget all of the medical records on computers that still run XP.

i just ran into a potential problem harddrive crash and the problem of reverification of the licence key after reinstall

Windows 7 is a solid OS. I would upgrade to that over Windows 8.1. Either that or wait for the next generation. Windows likes to go in cycles where they put out something new and it's terrible, then follow it up with a vastly improved exactly what we want kind of system. Windows 9 or w/e they name it is what I'm tentatively planning on upgrading to.

Windows 8.1 is fine. I see no difference between 8.1 and windows 7. Just install classic shell. In fact, my 8.1 systems are noticeably faster than the 7.

MS will be patching in the start menu again in an upcoming release.

Windows 7 pro and ultimate have a XP mode that allow running old programs and devices based on XP to work.

Just before Microsoft said they where going to stop upgrades to XP my puter started to go down hill. I bought a H/P tower with windows 7. So far so good!
