    DOJ delay letter

I got a letter from DOJ explaining that approval was delayed due to history of having my gun stolen and that I might be prohibited from buying a firearm if confirmed.
I had my sig p220 stolen about 5 years ago when my home was burglerized in Oakland(I did report it to OPD right away). I was looking through the DOJ prohibited person page but I couldnt find anything related to my situation. Do they have a different set of rules for legal resident non-citizens?.

There has to be more than what you are saying since having a firearm stolen is not grounds for making the owner a prohibited person.

Are you sure that they are not saying that the firearm that you are buying might be stolen?

That is what I thought too. I highly doubt the gun I bought is stolen because it is a brand new RIA 1911 from Cityguns East.

Possible that the gun you bought brand new has a serial number very close to one that was reported stolen perhaps and they had to do an ATF trace to figure it out. I had that problem with a trace that came to me for a serial number that was something like: ABC123 and the one I had transferred was ABC122. ATF kept asking me where ABC123 was from FFL XYZ. Had to tell them we never received it and someone had their paperwork wrong somewhere else along the chain.
