PPT AR Receiver, make information potentially incorrect

I did a PPT for an AR lower this past Saturday. Everything went fine as far as inputting the information up until the make of the receiver. The receiver is a Riflegear branded part, but apparently they weren't in the system. The seller said he was 99% sure that it was Aero Precision and the FFL input that as the make. However, it seems that the company that makes the receiver for Riflegear might actually be Mega Arms.

I'm sure it was an honest mistake on the seller's part, but will this be an issue with the DROS completing and also potentially afterwards when I go to take it home? The reviews on Riflegear's site say it's made by Mega Arms...should I call the FFL and ask them to correct it if possible? Thanks.

They should have put the Mfg as "U S" and in the comments "Mfg: Riflgear, LLC" or however marked.

What they did was basically wrong and may cause problems for you if the serial number is ever looked up by PD.

Call the FFL and let them know. They can electronically correct the dros.

Not sure if they can edit both Mfg and Comments. In the past system you were only allowed to change 1 field electronically (possibly manually too) and if 2 fields had to be changed I was told it had to be re-run..

Lame, but I would check with your dealer to double check to ensure they correct and if it has to be re-run it should be on their dime IMO.

If the manufacturer is not listed I always select the country it was made in and then put in the comments the manufacturer like ugimports said.

Looks like im SOL according to the DOJ website:

7.How can I correct or cancel a DROS submission?
Within 60 days of a handgun DROS submission, you may correct or cancel a handgun DROS via the DROS Entry System with your personal computer. After 60 days, you must complete a DROS Cancellation/Correction for Handguns (Form BOF 958) and submit it to DOJ.

In the event of a correction, only one handgun data field (e.g., make, serial #, and caliber) may be modified. If additional fields require modification, the DROS must be canceled and a new DROS submitted. A handgun DROS must also be canceled if the transaction is not completed within 30 days. All correspondence and documentation must be retained for three years for inspection purposes.

Long gun DROS submissions cannot be corrected or canceled.

Canceled even? I find that hard to believe. While you might end up paying another $25 dros, its better than the possible alternative.

I can correct long gun info on the new system. I haven't tried to change the comments, so i am no help in that department.

That looks like the FAQ from the old system.

Thanks for the help everyone, I called my FFL and they said they'd handle it. It didn't seem like a big issue when I talked to them.
