    RIA 1911s and the Roster

    Hey,

Any of you guys have an easy way to tell if a particular model of RIA 1911 is legal on the roster? The roster has no model numbers and the variety of models with similar names issued by Armscor is huge. In particular I have a customer that wants to order a 51484 which is listed as M1911A1 FS TACT but I don't think it's really on the roster even though there is this one:
    M1911-A1 Tactical / Steel

What do you guys say? Any hints on what criteria to use to determine whether I can sell it or not...or any other RIA models as well?

I would say no. You would need an entry which matches, which would be M1911-A1 FS Tactical. There is a FS model and a tactical, but no FS tactical.

If it matches, you can transfer it. You can call and talk to the person who deals with the list and see if you can get a list of the actual model numbers.

I haven't found any easy way.

Here's what I do: I email or call the manufacturer and ask how they would like to help me decipher the California roster. Either they email a pen and ink change of the CA DOJ list (for the particular manf) or I first send the list to them and they return it, pen and inked. I have one for RIA, but it is more than 6 months old; best to ask for an updated one.

FYI - from my out dated list - but you need a new one anyhow

RIA did not show a number 51484 on my list

RIA shows M1911-A1 Tactical / Steel as 51431

            Thanks Guys,

I heard back from Armscor. Here's the current list as of 4/5/2014:
