California has only 'hand guns' and 'long guns'. Feds also have 'other', and Fed and CA need not match!

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

All stripped lowers are long guns.

Pistol lowers must sell at a shop or during a PPT as a complete handgun. Only 07 FFL's can make Pistol lowers.

Well, it's going to be registered as what it is. Before Jan 1st all long guns were just drosed as "long gun." Now it gets drosed with its serial number and make/model and that info stays in the ca doj database now. Like handguns.

So your friend isn't wrong, per se.

In DROS it's listed as rife, then the make/model, and the last drop down box is supposed to be "carbine"
