Turlock Gun Show - Purchase Glock 30s via SSE?

Hi to Calguns community & all FFL participants. I'm a new member, and hope I found the right Forum category for this question. (If not, I apologize & welcome correction/ steering in right direction by moderators).

I've been trying in vain to purchase a CA compliant Glock G30S without getting into a price range far above MSRP. Can any Calgunners let me know if that possibility may exist at the upcoming Turlock Gun Show this weekend (Feb 22,23)?

I'm hoping (hey a girl can dream, right?) that a FFL who does SSE conversion on Glock 30S will be a vendor at this gun show (which I plan to attend), and that there will also be those selling my dream handgun at the show - and we can all somehow get together. Translate: Color me happy end of weekend.

I realize that such a fortuitous combination of factors is probably blocked by California's dizzying array of unconstitutional laws, but just had to ask. I REALLY want this gun.

Thanks in advance for all responses/advice.

Turlock Gun Show - Purchase Glock 30s via SSE?

I haven't seen what I would consider deal at a gun show in a long time.

I thought Spencer's in Turlock was supposed to have decent prices.?.

Give Full Spectrum Arms in Fresno a call. They have great prices and SSE is free. Depending on what you drive the hr from Turlock to Fresno would be worth it.

edit: 3:15 Also Breco Firearms just put one up on FB. They are here in Fresno too.

      bigred1:

Thank you! Just checked out Breco Firearms FB page & will call them first thing in the morning.

Love the folks at Spencer's (assuming you mean the one in Madera) but unfortunately they don't do SSE on Glock 30S.

Thanks so much for the heads-up on Breco. You'll be my hero if I land my dream gun from them.

haha yeah, I knew there was a gunshop called Spencer's north of me. I don't travel much for guns since I moved to Fresno; this is the land of LGS.

Breco is good people, I frequent there often. Hope they still have that 30s by the time you make it down.

Give Tracy Rifle and Pistol and MTG Firearms a call. When the first wave of G30S's hit late last year both shops had a limited qty of them and they both do SSE. Both of them sold at $599 or less with SSE included.

Solar Tactical and Elite Arms are worth calling too, but I don't know if they mark up SSE guns.

In any event, you will want to pick a shop you like and put a deposit down if they will let you. The 30S appears harder to get than the Shield9 at this point.

Gun Shows have really sucked the past 2 years so I personally wouldn't get my hopes up. There are probably only 2 or 3 vendors at the show worth visiting and they are the last place to expect a deal these days.

I got it! Was finally able to make the two hour drive yesterday after calling to verify they still had one left. I hated to cruise into a gun store for a somewhat time-consuming transaction just before closing time - not exactly a great first impression. But Aaron was incredibly gracious, helpful - and impressively efficient in processing the paperwork. He knew - based on the phone calls I'd made previously - how much I wanted this gun, and how much time I'd invested in the search, so maybe that made him so sweet despite being kept a little late on a Friday night. In any event, he's one of those guys that make you walk out of a store hoping they're paying him what he's worth.

March 4th can't get here fast enough. I only had a couple of minutes to handle my beautiful Glock 30S before putting it back in the box, silently cursing the 10-day waiting period.

But it does feel fabulous just knowing I own it. Now I'm off to a different forum to get advice on ammo. Thanks for all the great input, guys!

Breco Firearms in Clovis. Tip of the cap to Aaron. Thanks to him, Breco Firearms is now a gun store I'll recommend with enthusiasm to anyone who'll listen.

P.S. Yes, bigred1 is now officially my hero.
