So we've been contacted by someone that wants to sell a bunch of guns he has inherited from his uncle. Most of the guns are okay/normal and some of them may or may not be assault weapons. Some of the guns in question are a Springfield SAR-8, HK SP-89 and various AR's. He doesn't know the history of these guns as his uncle never talked about them. His wife didn't even know he had them.
I have a few questions of how we can/should proceed?
1) Would we be able to legally convert the SAR-8 and SP-89 to a Non-AW configuration and purchase them?
2) Is there a way to find out if the SAR-8, HK SP-89 and AR's are registered AW or if they are unregistered AWs?
3) If they are unregistered AW's what must happen to them?
4) Could we have the customer bring in the AR's to have them stripped of all the parts and then cut the receivers in half? (He doesn't want them and would rather us just dispose of them)
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.
