can I sell or trade my Remington Rand 1911 and ship to a California Buyer. I know the law changed last jan. I need to know before I post the pistol for trade Thanks Don Albion Idaho.

Federal law since 1968 requires that you ship it to an FFL because it's an interstate transfer. California law since 1991 requires that the transfer go through a California dealer. So you will need to ship it to a California dealer who can then transfer it to your buyer. Some FFLs have a policy of only accepting shipments from other FFLs. A 1943 Remington-Rand M1911 is exempt from California's safe handgun roster because it is C&R.__________________
