FFL to hold guns until customer ready to DROS

Say a customer is looking at purchasing a single handgun and 2-4 long guns over a 2 month period.

Granted that the FFL is willing and has physical space at their location, is it ok for them to receive and hold the firearms until the customer is ready to come in and put them all on one DROS? Or does the customer need to come in and DROS them as soon as they are received?

I know most guys wouldn't mind forking over $25 a pop just to get their guns sooner than later, but for those who can wait, is this possible?

We can start DROS whenever we want. It is up to the dealer.
www.tenpercentfirearms.com was open from 2005 until 2018. I now own Westside Arms.

Can anyone, assuming they are able and not the original purchaser, DROS 1 or more of the firearms?

Say for example a customer buys 3 rifles, has them sent to an FFL, decides he doesn't want 1 of them, asks his buddy to DROS it in his name instead?

      Thanks again!

Yup..I've held stuff for 1 guy and before he came in to DROS sold them to buddy B so that guy came in to DROS. All depends how you hear the story and if it sounds fishy.. in my scenario I knew both parties so the straw purchase alert wasn't set off.

That is fine. I will grill him about whether he is the actual transferee/purchaser, but if he says yes, that is fine.

Ive had 3 guys collectively buy 12 mossins and send them here and we waited until all 3 of them could make it in at the same time so they could pick and choose who got what..... Just a minor PITA but nothing says we can't do that. I would expect a small LGS to accommodate something like this but not big retailers.

We have a lot of Marines out here. I have held guns for up to 6 months for these guys waiting for them to come back from the sandbox. It takes up room ,but makes the guys happy so I am willing to do it.

I have had guys order multiple guns, and have brought in friends to Dros some of them. Im ok with that too. As long as everyone is Drosing something. The guy who ordered Droses one or two, his buddy another two. I know that way it's not a straw purchase, and sometimes you can get a much better deal ordering four of something.
