Ok so we were having a discussion about this "handgun" from Atlantic Firearms. They have a link on their CA Legal page about this gun and says ATF has determined that this hand grip is not a stock and thus not a SBR and doesn't violate NFA regs. However, here in CA this just doesn't seem to pass the 'smell test' of a handgun. What are the thoughts on this from the other FFL's. Are you guys DROSing these under SSE? Or not?

Not SSE it

Pull the arm brace off and leave it in the box (it just slips over the pistol buffer tube)

I have been in 3 different shops that SSE them as shipped from sig. Their are also other Manufactures that are installing them (the brace) on their pistols.

I've DROSd 2 or 3 to customers and have had a few other customers purchase the brace for their AK or AR pistols. YMMV on getting busted or not with it in CA, but no test cases yet despite the ATF letter.

Ok. So what you are saying ASD is that the arm brace just fits over the normal buffer tube like on any other AR pistol? If so then I have no problem doing an SSE transfer on these because my customer agreement states that any modifications may create no compliant guns. Sounds like I have the idea right in my head now and I'm comfortable doing these now.

I just had to figure out exactly what in the heck these things were when we saw them on the website for Atlantic.

Shows how it is installed. BTW: that woman must be ripped... or I'm just extremely weak because these P556s are effin heavy and I can barely hold it up with the brace... with NO ammo in it..
