    Basically Yes, like Halifax said it was just a one time thing. I did call and they said I was good to go. Like Halifax also said, it was not meant to stop these one time occurrences. It's still rather silly, that you require permission to sell your own property. I was trying to avoid the consignment thing to avoid aying them a share but that was my back up plan.

      So are they going to send you a written document regarding this? Did they even take your name and information to making sure you are not flagged or just confirm that in general, we don't enforce this penal code? I am just trying to figure out if there is a way to circumvent this law and guarantee no charges. Just don't trust a phone confirmation without it being relayed to the enforcement personnel and confirmed to me. Otherwise you are depending, given it is probably a close to non existent risk, that they don't pursue offenders of this PC.

        These are just some of what I sold in 2013. These are the only ones I can recall.... I am pretty sure I sold a couple more handguns.

          Last year, CA DOJ admitted that detection and enforcement was lax/problematic and that they would be working on a better method of tracking sales by private parties.

            Why the need to improve detection when you've got folks openly admitting to breaking the law?
