    27-2

Went to my local pawn shop yesterday and saw a nice 27-2, 4 inch, they told me they could not sell it to me , they can only sell it to law enforcement is this true?

The California safe handguns list keeps unsafe handguns out of the wrong hands.

Fortunately it is okay for LEOs to have unsafe handguns, they have magic hands or something.

If its not 50+ years old and not being transferred as a PPT, then it's no go.

If they are SSE/single action friendly, they could always pull out the double action sear and sell it as an exempt single action. Unlikely they'll do this though.

As you read from Eddy's posts, NOT TRUE. Also if you are an FFL you can purchase. I hate when stores state LE as the only criteria.

I am not sure if pawn shops can do consignment sales, but if it is a consignment gun it can be sold to non-LEO. If it is a shop gun you might be out of luck. Keep looking they do turn up now and again on consignment.
