    Long gun PPT Question

What would happen if someone sold and transferred a rifle to me when it was not registered to the seller? Would the transaction get cancelled during the 10 day waiting period?

If it turned up stolen, yes. Otherwise, probably no issues

Well that's good news. I'm sure it's not stolen. I'm buying it from a family friend.

Please remember that the current kerfuffle about registering long guns exists in part because generally long guns are not registered in California. That changed for transfers beginning this month, but there are millions of long guns not known to the state. In 80-100 years, if the law stays as it is, I'd expect most long guns to be registered.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
