Did my first shotgun yesterday with the new system.
In the "Barrel Length" section, I tried to put 28.0 and selected "inches" as the unit of measure and got an error which would not let me proceed.
This is another incredibly short sighted issue with the new system that needs to be addressed. I deal with a lot of shotguns and rifles that have 28 and even 30" barrels.
Anyone else notice this? It simply wont let you continue with anything over 26.0" the minimum barrel length is 18" so it gives you a range between 18" and 26" to choose from. I wonder if this is the same for rifles? I have not done a rifle yet, but I would imagine that AR's with 16" barrels might be an issue as well.
My solution: I selected 26.0" in the barrel category, and then in the notes section, indicated that the shotgun had a 28" barrel.
Hopefully they will get it fixed soon.
*** Update *** Just on a whim I decided to call and report the issue as well as reporting through the system, and the phone was answered in about 7 rings by a very polite and personable young lady, who indicated they were aware of the problem and told me that what I did by adding it in the comments was the right thing to do, and that they would have it updated soon.
At least they are making it easy to report and remedy the issues we are having. Credit where credit is due I always say...
