    Being that it is a RIFLE and NOT a HANDGUN;
    Pre 2014- NO paperwork at all needed.
    2014+- there is supposedly a form (im sure similar to the handgun intra family form, if not the same) that must be filled out and submitted with a fee ($19?) you must pay in order to excercise your constituional rights.

      If you are both California residents,

      Pre-2014 - No Paperwork

      2014 and After - This form is submitted to the DOJ along with a $19 check. It would be filled out and signed by your son.
