ugimports, halifax already attempted to start a thread capturing new DES issues, but I suspect lumping issues together will become unwieldy pretty quickly (especially if new issues are noticed and raised late in a catch-all thread).

I am not a moderator, but it might be easier for folks to find and comment if each issue has its own thread (with a title that is descriptive of that particular issue). These are just my observations based on similar historical events. Your mileage may vary. Feel free to ignore without hurting my feelings.
      That's just my $1.05.

Woops, I forgot about that one. I'll move my 2 questions into that thread, thanks.

          Shadow Ops Weaponry
          Good Time Outdoors
          probably others...
As of 2014-01-01 11:29, the a copy of the complete list of exempt handgun manufacturers can be found here. A list of calibers is here. These were taken directly from the source of the exempt handgun transfer page. I don't see an option for "UNKNOWN" or equivalent, but maybe others might be able to spot one. Also note the "Firearm with interchangable barrels" option in the caliber drop-down. I will note that there are "UNKNOWN" entries for "Race", "Eye Color", "Hair Color", and Gun "Color". Those are the only ones I could find on the page.

According to the screen I was just looking at the FSD answer needs to be put in when DROS starts.
Yeah, this seems really shortsighted to me. Whoever designed this has obviously never conducted an actual transaction. For example, this often happens: a customer initiates a purchase and claims they have a compliant safe. When they come pick it up, they can't remember the make/model of the safe, or they realize the safe they do have isn't compliant. Then, rather than go all the way home to check, or to purchase a new safe, they make the decision to purchase a lock (or we just give them one). At that point, it's too late to go back and make a correction to the form (which would likely delay things further anyway). With the new system, we basically have to fill it out as instructed by the consumer at initiation time. It is completely unreasonable to require that a new background check be required merely to correct an entry for that field.
