    100 year old relics

    Please advise on requirements for revolvers from Civil war era and prior to 1899.

    If it was made before 1899 then it is not considered a firearm under federal law. It is still considered a firearm under most sections of the California penal code, but it is exempt from California's dealer transfer requirements. That means you can buy them cash and carry or mail order without having to go though an FFL and without any paperwork.

    "100 year old relics" are another matter completely.
