    SSE questions for 2014

After Jan 1, 2014, what are you FFLs planning to do with SSE pistols that have magazine capacities greater than 10 rounds?

You just going to stop the SSE process? Or going to permanently block off the mags?

I'm just trying to get ideas..

    thanks!

buy all the pistols you want before 12-31-13 and take the kit's home now and then just do the 1 in 30 thing as needed

Piggyback question. What changes in 2014 regarding SSE transfers. I hardly ever handle these and it wasn't something I followed closely. Can somebody educate me please.

Nothing changes with SSE. There are some changes to the DROS process which I think are pretty positive (handguns and longguns on the same DROS), although the controversial adding of longguns to a DROS started days earlier is no longer possible.

No change to the SSE guns or how you DROS them but the one thing that will change is the Mag kit's that come with them. A lot of the guns that people SSE are only made with standard capacity mags ( 10+ ) So if you buy a gun next year it will not come with mag kit's. So if their are not 10's made for that gun you will not have a kit to make into a 10rd mag

^ Can an FFL with a hi-cap mag permit permanently block them off for the customer still, or is that no longer allowed?

An FFL "should" be able to do that still. From my experience and from what I have read online, most can't be bothered to do something like that for their customer.

This will become an issue for you if you aren't HSC exempt as you wont have a magazine for the safety demonstration.

Most of the FFL's I have talked to do not want to be a "test case". So from what I have been told they will not be blocking mags as the new mag laws are questionable as to if it's ok to do that.

Some have also said that they do not want to have to explain what happened to the 10+ mags.
