I have two pistols that my stepfather bought for me in the1992, in New Mexico. They are not in the CA system, how can I trade them or sell they? (I have no contact with him since 1994)

If they are on the roster you can sell or trade to anyone in or outside of CA.

If they are off roster you can only PPT within CA or sell/trade to LEO within CA or sell outside of CA.

in other words there is NOT A THING stopping you from legally disposing of those weapons as you see fit provided you do the whole transfer through an FFL.
