My wife wants to gift a revolver to my stepson. I see a problem because I never adopted him. The revolver was purchased by me, I don't know if it is community property. ( State of Ca.) Please advise, Thanks

What he said.
Operation of law from you to your wife.
Wife needs a valid HSC and sends in a completed Report of Operation of Law or Intra-Familial Handgun Transaction to CA DOJ.
Not necessary, but may want to wait until CA DOJ mails back confirmation of the transfer before proceeding to the next step.
Wife then gifts it to her son.
Son needs needs a valid HSC and sends in a completed Report of Operation of Law or Intra-Familial Handgun Transaction to CA DOJ.sigpic
