Out of State LEO and Transfer?

So, I'm pretty sure the answer is no, but I wanted to just make sure.

I have a friend who is a LEO from another state and is here visiting. He brought a couple of guns with him and one he offered to sell me. I told him I didn't think we'd be able to, since he didn't have a CDL, but I wanted to be sure. Does it make any difference if it's on the roster or not? (This gun isn't.)

Is that correct? My googling turned up nothing on the issue.

Because he is a non-resident...

The transfer is not considered a PPT* and the handgun needs to be on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it.

His status as a LEO has no bearing on the transfer.





*PPT = A face-to-face transfer between CA residents facilitated by a CA FFL dealer.

Yes.

However, since the firearm is a handgun, the handgun needs to be on the Roster of Handguns Certified for Sale or be exempt from it.
