Hey,
I read the FAQ for my question, and I think I am ok, but figured I would ask to be sure.

Buying a new handgun in LA county.

My divers license and my vehicle registration show my old address, I have a DWP bill in my name at my current address though.

This should suffice for the proof I need right?

Get you DL updated with your current address.

since you have a .gov-issued document with your current address on it, the DWP is a gov-agency, that is all you should need. It will meet federal PoI requirements along with CA PoR requirements.

however, some ignorant FFLs might require additional Proof of Identity or Residency even though it is not legally required by the USC, CFR, PC, or CCR.

You might want to check with the LGS you are buying from. Some cities in LA county have stricter rules regarding proof of residency and some require 2 other forms of proof. West Covina is not one of them so I'm not sure on the exact laws on this one. Just giving you my two cents.

Some FFLs make the mistake to think that two items for proof of residency is required because they fail to realize that for a handgun that the DL/ID is not acceptable proof and only one item is needed. For the Feds, if the DL/ID is not the current address, then a government document is needed.
