    CA Roster Model Number Question

    Looking to buy a Springfield XD40 Tactical...

    However, the model number on the roster isn't complete for it.

    Actual Model # XD9402HCSP06

    The roster looks like this;
    XD9402 Tactical / Polymer, Steel Pistol 5" .40 S&W 9/6/2014

    Model XD9402HCSP06 comes with 12 round mags, which I would block to 10. Model XD9402SP06 comes with 10 round mags and seems to rarer than a unicorn, can't find it anywhere.

    So, if the seller is willing to ship, and my FFL is willing to disassemble the mags into parts. Can the pistol be legally DROS'ed in CA? Or, does the "HC" in the middle of the model number screw me?

    For Springfield, the model number includes other factors, such as what it comes with.

    It should be fine if the firearm is the same, but the CA DOJ told me that a CA FFL can not create a parts kit from a magazine. The law does not address that issue, but there is having to log the magazine in and then record what you did with it.

      Ok, thanks for clearing that up for me.
