How can we get this pinned down? Is there any official way of getting a straight answer to this? Maybe a law firm contacting them or something? I know it seems small in comparison to the other BS we have to put up with but I would think that it would be a quick and easy answer.

The DOJ is notorious for not taking a firm stance, on anything, at least not in writing. They contradict themselves, or make an assessment, but let individual county prosecutors go the other way as they see fit (as long as it puts more decent people in jail).

For a glimpse into the absurdity, see Haynie v. Harris, especially pp. 17-23 of the Third Amended Consolidated Complaint in that case. It's got plenty to make your blood boil....
      That's just my $1.05.

Is "Bob" the new Iggy or something?

The dealer needs to scroll down to "1 in 30 exempt" when he does the DROS and not select "C&R exempt" otherwise you will be denied for violation of more than one handgun purchase in 30 days.

The screen is a little different now, but the checkbox for "30-Day Restriction Exemption" should be checked instead.

If he doesn't believe the FFL03+COE gets you this then challenge the dealer on what the purpose of the check box is. It shows up when you are "Submitting Dealer Handgun Sale" which is a different option then "Curio/Relic Handgun Sale" so he can't make the argument it's related to the C&R...

I can't think of any other reason for the 30 day restriction exemption that would apply to a normal handgun sale...

See post #22, there are multiple ways to be exempt from the 1 in 30 and it could "look" like a normal sale.
