FFL....PPT?

Can I, as a 01 FFL, PPT from my own collection or do I always have to log gun back into bound book and sell thru my Second-hand dealer license? My gut tells me I have to log the gun back into my bound book.

Example:

I live in OC, A friend in Ventura wants to buy my Mosin Nagant. I meet him at a gun shop closer to him and have the PPT performed at that location.

My inspector has stated to me that if I have purchased a firearm for personal use and have not owned that firearm for more than one year he would like to see that firearm in my A&D book and then disposed in the book. He stated that if I have owned them over a year he doesn't care if I PPT them through another FFL.

What he said he did not want to see was guns being transferred to me and then sold PPT a short time later. I have only done 2 PPTs since becoming an FFL and both handguns were purchased by me before I had an FFL and I had owned them well over a year. I PPTd one here at my place and the other we met at an FFL closer to both of our homes. I live 1 hour away from my place. The only ppt that went into my book was the first case because the transfer took place here. The second gun that was transferred at the other FFL was handled all by them.

It depends on how you received the firearm. If you filled out a 4473, then you don't need to wait a year.
