Can a handgun be transferred without a magazine? My daughter from Nv gave me a Steyer SPP, but, since it came with a high cap mag, I left the mag in NV. I've never shot it, and would like to sell it, but wondered if it has to have a mag with it when it gets transferred, especially if they have to do a firearms safety demonstration.

Yes, it would be an issue for the safety demo. No, you don't have to transfer with a mag. But your issue would be if the buyer was not exempt from safety demo. Maybe sell it on gunbroker.com and have the person in NV ship the mag separate.Interstate Transfers $100 (DROS included with the price)

You might see if someone near you has a magazine. 10 round or less is easier, but if they come in with the magazine then the safety demo can be done. Out of state is not an issue. You could also buy a 10 round magazine.Kemasa.
