    FFL issue/question?

I am having an issue between a California FFL and an out of state FFL, I order a long gun from an out of state FFL that shipped it to a California FFL. Prior to shipping it, the out of state FFL had the CA FFL send him a copy of their FFL. Now that the store received the firearm they are saying they need a copy off the out of states FFL but he doesn't want to give a copy, and the CA FFL said they will send it back if they dont get it. I dont want to throw anyone under the bus but who is right?

The CA FFL is wrong. The is no requirement that the receiving FFL get a copy of the shipper's FFL. It is common to get a copy though. it is easier to log the firearm with the FFL number instead of the address. I have never asked for a copy if the FFL was not provided. In one case it turned out there was a copy of the FFL in the box, but it was just thrown in with the packing material.

BTW, the CA FFL can not ship it back unless they have a copy of the FFL. As the CA FFL how they are going to ship it back without a copy of the FFL. Also suggest that the CA FFL call the BATF to ask about this.

Throw the CA FFL under the bus unless they get some common sense. Others can inform them as their being wrong.
