PPT out of state

Heya Folks-

Sorry i have searched and ended up in the calguns wiki that led me to the question. I'm interested in buying what I believe is an on roaster handgun (Les Baer Premier 2 1911). Long story short but the seller is moving to CA and bringing the pistol with him. Ideally we would both prefer F2F and PPT but as he will be a new resident the wiki leads me to believe this will not be PPT (instead Interstate) unless he is a resident. By that I'm assuming he would need to both prove residency and provide a CA Driver License.

He is MOVING here (new job) but the question is for the seller, whats needed for PPT? anyone know? If its a CA DL its likely off as thats a PITA for the guy who simply wants to sell a pistol.

He needs a California ID card, or California drivers license, or military ID, with posting orders in California.

If he in fact is moving here he's going to have to get a CA DL anyways. Not sure why it's a PITA since he has to do it anyway.

True, its not "if" a CA DL is secured its "when". Never the less, thanks for the replies.
