    COE question

    Hey all,

I have my initial CCW appt on Oct 3rd. I am also looking at getting a COE so I can still order a CMP Garand to my door after Jan 1st.

Question: can I use the same livescan for my CCW and my COE?? It would save me from paying for two livescans.

You have to pay for two livescans. The agencies requesting the information will want their own forms and such. You have two different agencies who want their results separate.

    Pony up the dough.

I'll assume you have your FFL03 as well. I didn't read anything in the new law related to CCW unless it's in a section I missed. Section 45 defines the FFL03/COE requirements.

BTW - as far as I can tell CMP has not announced their decision on how (or if) they will handle California customers starting 1/1/14.

I just sent both documents (FFL03/COE) to their customer service division today to ensure they have them on file in case they decide to continue sales to those California residents that have the requisite paperwork.

I need some help filling out my "REQUEST FOR LIVE SCAN SERVICE" sheet.

In the applicant information section, what do they mean by "Billing Number(Agency Billing Number)" and "Misc Number(Other Identification Number)"?

That is for business'. You don't have to worry about that if you are an individual.

Long gun registration kicks in on January 1, 2014. I don't think 03/FFLs were exempted, so I think you would still need to DROS via a dealer anything you receive. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I was under the impression that having an 03 and COE would still allow me to have C&R rifles shipped to my door if these new laws pass?
              Thanks, Zedrek.

It's going to largely depend on how well the out of state companies/sellers view it. The consensus is that it shouldn't be a problem but we might have to educate them.
