    30 day holds

On a consignment sale is there a 30 hold placed on the firearm prior to selling? If so does the firearm have to be locked up in a safe or can it be displayed?

Separate question: Does a handgun that we have purchased have to be placed on a 30 day hold away from public view before it can be purchased or displayed?

I think displaying is ok. I think you could sell it prior to the thirty day period, as long as the DROS pick up date is past the thirty day period. The only problem would be if DOJ put a hold on the gun during the thirty day time period(example: stolen firearm)

Past experience has taught me that when a firearm comes up stolen the PD rolls in ASAP. Stolen guns usually get flagged on the FDAS within about 2 days. So If its day 20 and you haven't heard from PD yet I imagine the firearms are GTG.

We put consignment firearms out on day 21. That way it doesn't leave til after the 30 days.

We sometimes even put the firearms we buy from customers out for sale on day 21 also just to get exposure.
