What would qualify as an invoice?

I recently did my first out-of-state dealer transfer for a long gun, which was purchased on another forum. The seller and myself are not sure what would qualify as an invoice as he knows nothing about CA-laws (He didn't even know we had to wait 10 days!)

Also, are these invoices kept by the dealer for records?

The invoice is so receiving FFL can figure out the sales tax. Was the asking price listed? If so, a print out of that, if not the seller can do a hand written note.

The asking price was listed, but I got the price lowered by a lot on the phone and on emails.

Get him to write it down and if any questions you could always pull out the emails.

Ive used anything from the invoice, to auction printout, to email, to hand written note, to determine the sale price and tax.
