Accepting an SSE from out of state....

    Hi guys,

Hey, what's your opinion on transfering an SSE gun (while we can). I wouldn't be involved in doing the SSE. Apparently the guy want's a Gen4 Glock and it would come in already converted to single shot from an FFL out of state. I'd just transfer it marking the DROS "other" and "singleshot". I'm a new FFL and don't want to get crossways with the law. Any issues you see, or any trouble I can get into doing this transfer? It seems clean unless/until the new bill passes/goes into effect....

i'm not an FFL, but you could ask the CA-DOJ if that is OK. If so ask for it in writing. Any wrong doing is on them. ;D

Yes, if its single shot you can dros it under the exemption. Just be sure it meets the requirements of a single shot exemption before you do it!

You can do the conversion as well, but you can legally transfer any firearm which meets the conditions, such as a single shot. Personally, I would take a picture as a cya to show that it was actually a single shot. It is easier if the DOJ decides that they have some sort of issue. While you don't have to prove it was a single shot, if you get hassled, it is easier to have the documentation.
