    DROS failure.. hypothetical questions

I was reading another thread about a guying failing his DROS, so I got curious.. besides the obvious, what are some minor things that would cause someone to fail? And how soon into the 10 days would they find out? Hypothetical questions.. Last time I bought a gun my FFL was mentioning some technicalities and what not..

well I found out from the seller about 3 days after the dros. he is calling to find out why.

but I've heard simple things like unpaid ticket can cause the denial.

Thats wild. I wonder why an unpaid ticket wud be cause for someone to not own a gun. Thats corporate America I guess.

Being detained for possible possession of pot in the '70's can get you put on hold for years today. Expired ID is a simple one. Unpaid DMV or tickets are other reasons. FFLs do NOT receive any explaination from DOJ so, asking here isn't going to get you any info that you wouldn't get in any other forum here.

The person who was denied can. The FFL can't.

                The government wants their money.

It is not a matter of not being allowed to own a firearm, it is that they won't let you purchase a firearm. I had a customer who had a DMV reject, which just prevented the transfer, but not his ability to drive nor his guard card.

The DOJ should send out a letter. I am not sure if it details what the reason is. Right now the hard part is in being able to talk to someone at the DOJ.
