emailed copy of license or not

    Hi,
An out of state seller wants an emailed copy of my license for their records. Is that valid or does it have to be a signed, mailed copy?
    Thank you for any help.

here is an ATF newsletter about emailed copies.

another question is whether the seller is an FFL or not. If not, then there is no legal requirement for you to send him a copy of your FFL, and FFL has in the past recommended that you not send him such a copy. Seem that people alter the FFL so that they can buy guns "on your paper". Instead, ATF recommends that you give him your partial FFL number that he can run through the EZ-check website to make sure you have a valid FFL

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

There is no requirement for FFLs to give a copy of their FFL to non-licensees, please see the end of Page 2, beginning of Page 3:

In addition, the BATF tells FFLs to not give a copy of their FFL to
        non-licensees.

If the seller is a FFL, then they need a copy of your FFL. You can download the FFL database and search for them to determine if they are a FFL before you send your FFL or you can ask them for the first three and last five of their FFL number.

          Kemasa,
Thank you so much for the information. I'm a new FFL and I followed your procedure that you posted on CalGuns from the start. It was a very helpful post!
Thanks again for knowing all the right ways to do things!
