App for FFL, Los Angeles, Who is my CLEO?

I'm applying for my FFL, intending to gunsmith from my home garage, and I need to figure out who the CLEO in my area is. I have already gotten my temporary business license from the City of Los Angeles. They said the permanent copy would ship in 4-6 weeks. Would I go to the local LAPD, or the Sherriff's Department? Thanks for any help with this. I do appreciate it!

I had an FFL here less then a year ago. Send it to Charlie Beck he is CLEO for LA City.

If you got your local license from the city then LAPD, if you got your license from the county then LASO

The easy way to determine who it is: Go outside and start shooting. When officers arrive, tell them to take you to their leader. You can also look at their uniforms, but that is not half as much fun.
