SD FFL dealer that will DROS intra-familial handgun from out of state?

My dad was in town (San Diego) and was going to give me a handgun for a wedding gift. We didn't have any luck finding a place in town that would do it as every one of them that I spoke with said I just have to send in the paper work to DOJ and pay $19. I informed each of them that while it is intra-familial, it is still across state lines so is a federal concern rather than solely a CA concern.

So, do any of you know a place in San Diego that knows the laws and can help me out?

That is not possible since if the father was a resident of CA, then the form could be used. A CA PPT is where two CA residents go to a FFL. In this case, one of the people is not a CA resident, so he won't have a CA ID/DL.

I've been to Gussler's before. Wish I would have thought of going there when my dad was in town. Now I'll have to have him ship it. <shrug>

Good to know. Poway was recommended by a coworker but it was a little further away than I wanted to drive. Looks like I should have made that trip.
