    I.O. AK 47

Trying to buy this ak 47 by I.O. Inc sportmaster from a ffl dealer from Pensylvania. Its for sale for $695 but no bullet button. He is willing to put a bullet button and sell it to me for $825 including shipping. I'm just not sure if it will be legal since list says all ak47. I saw one on call gun who has a california compliant ak. I just called a ffl dealer in burlingame and he said even with bullet button and 36" in lenght he is not sure if it will be legal. Also he will not accept because of the magazine even if it comes as disaasembled and described as parts

    Description of seller

I bought one of these directly from IO. Had no problems at all...10rnd mags and bullet button. I'll let the others let you in on legalities since I'm a new FFL and am still sorting out how NOT to accidentally go to jail as an FFL...LOL.

Hi on the gun it self it doesnt have a marking ok Ak47. It just says sporter 762x 39 pioneer arms corp random Poland. Io inc Monroe nc.

On the band list it list the company name and says Ak47 all, RPK and M97.

So it should be good? I will call another ffl in my area

      Thanks

Does the receiver say exactly AK47 or AK-47? If not, you're ok. Also, you can request to have the pistol grip removed if the rifle is not on list. Had this done to an AK from IO that came from Florida. FFL in Socal did the transfer with no bullet button and no pistol grip. Just like a Saiga.

If it dose not have AK47 or AK-47 on it and you have now confirmed this with the seller as it can not be seen in the crapy pic's I am sure the FFL in Burlingame will do the transfer

Have the seller ship the Mag / parts to "you".

The reason some FFL's have store polices on not letting people ship guns with "parts kits" to them is that hypothetically sometimes the mags do not get disassembled ( importation of high cap mags is a Felony ) or worse yet it was not disassembled and is still in the magwell (importation of a AW is a Felony )

So is it worth having your new gun turned over to LE and loosing your new gun and going to prison over a $30 mag I think not

That gun is not on the ban list "BUY NAME" so if you have a BB installed before it comes into CA you should be fine

Ok now the I.O. doesnt want to sell his gun. I found a m+m but he said he doesnt know how to install a bullet button. Will it be illegal to have it ship to ffl with no bullet button?

                    YES
It must have a BB installed before it comes into CA
