Hey guys, I'm looking to purchase a lower online and need to send to an FFL - only thing is my local (Turners, San Marcos) isn't accepting this type of arrangement. I'm not well versed on the process but essentially what I want to do is buy a lower, ship to a local FFL (does anyone know if Ironsights will do this??) and go through the 10 day wait. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

haven't been there, but wiser owl tactical in miramar does it for $35.i think duncans wants about $140

i bought my mega arms lower from turners san Marcos. i saw a franklin complete lower there last week...

unless you need a specific lower, it is usually cheaper/easier to buy one directly from your local FFL. For instance, Turners is selling a stripped lower for $159 right now, how much do you expect to save by buying online, having it shipped to your FFL, paying the dealer transfer fee, etc?

here's some sample numbers.

the cheapest you'd find a lower online would be $75-100 + $25 shipping + $50 dealer fee + $25 DROS + $12-14 tax= $187-214


Turners $159 +$25 DROS + $5 dealer fee $13 tax = $202

basically evens out and for that potential $15 savings, I'd just pull the trigger at Turners. And you might even find a lower locally for even less. As an example, AmmoBros has a lower for $99.99 right now. you should be able to find similar deal down SD way.

If you're up for the drive, have it sent to JD Machine on Morena Blvd (Near Pacific Beach) and just pay the $25 DROs fee. Nothing else.

nice to see that they are cool about that. I see too many times where dealers complain about online sales "taking money from their pocket" . I could really see where a manufacturer could really complain about transfering another brand.

I called to double-check myself, and they said no biggie. They also say they don't charge any other fees other than DROs because they're a machine shop/manufacturing shop.

Don't know where your located but Gusslers in Santee or Wilde Built Tacticalin by Lake Murray have worked great for me in the past. And depending on what your looking for I know Wilde Built has a bunch of different lowers in stock. My Anarchy set is serving it's ten day sentence right now!
