Question on DROS

If I buy a handgun from a fellow Cal Gunner can I also pick one up from a brick and mortor store in same 30 day period?

In addition if I am on a wait list for a firearm and they call me during this 30 day period will they know I am on a wait or could I get away with coming down say a week later to pay and wrap up DROS?

I ask because I am looking to trade one firearm right now but I am on a 2 month wait for a weapon and its been about 1month 1 week

A PPT is not counted in regards to the 1 in 30, but that means it has to be done as a PPT and not shipped. A firearm from a dealer might not count if it is a consignment and processed as a PPT (which is how off list firearms are sold by dealers).

A dealer would not know that you submitted a handgun DROS within 30 days, that is your responsibility. If you violate it, the DROS will be cancelled and you will be out the money and start all over again.

The gun on order, you can pay for it and DROS it when it is time. I am sure I am not the only one that has done that.

That is something you need to check with the FFL on. It might not be an issue, but it could be.
