    Shipping question (again)

If a CA resident wants to ship a HANDGUN to another person who lives in a different state for the purpose OTHER than transfer of ownership, can they just ship it to them ?

When the person that they shippied the gun to wants to ship it back to the owner in CA, can they just ship it back to them?

    No.

If the other person is a gunsmith, the answer would be yes, but you can't just go shipping firearms for "loans".

BATF doesn't care about ownership and much as they care about possession. Sending a firearm to another person is a transfer under the law.

        Thank You .

Is it true that a gunsmith should also have a FFL?

Yes, a gunsmith should have a FFL. There are some who work on firearms while you are there, but they can not have the firearms overnight.
