Hello from out of state FFL

Just wanted to stop in and say hello! We have had numerous request from people within California asking if we would ship our lowers to them. We registered with the state and got a CFLC number so we believe we are GTG.

Is there anything else needed? how do you guys feel about receiving out of state firearms? I have heard mixed reviews about FFL's acceptance of out of state transfers.

    Thanks,

We don't mind receiving out of state firearms at all. All we ask is that with the shipment you include the name and phone number of the buyer, a copy of your FFL, and the CA approval letter.

Some people have trouble because the out of state FFL does not ship the firearm in CA compliant, then we have an assault weapon on our hands. For FFLs with an AW license, this isn't a problem.

Also, customers are always buying off roster handguns and do not qualify for the exemption as a CA law enforcement. Be sure the gun is on the list, or the customer is a CA peace officer.

Also, a receipt is needed due to the CA sales tax requirements.

A copy of your FFL is not required, but is nice.

Also, with respect to off-roster firearms, they can be converted to single shot, so if that is the plan, it is allowed, with approval of the FFL. It is actually the responsibility of the customer to ensure that it can be transferred to them.

Also, it is my understanding that a stripped lower is neither a semi automatic rifle nor a semi automatic pistol, therefore does NOT need a bullet button installed prior to shipment.

For all we know, the customer will configure it as a single shot rifle, or a featureless semi automatic rifle. Both cases allow it to be built without a bullet button.
