    High Capacity Magazine Permit

I have an FFL, and I applied for a high capacity magazine permit over 6 weeks ago. How long does it usually take to hear back from the CA DOJ?

    Thanks,

It has usually taken about two weeks in the past. Now that things are super busy at BOF there really is no telling, unfortunately.

It only took about 3 weeks a month ago for me. Have they cashed your check yet?

I just called Kathy at the DOJ and she said she never received my application, so it must be lost. I have to send it again. Incidentally, I was under the impression there is no extra fee for the permit. That's what the application says.

          Thanks again,

          Malcolm

Make sure you include a "good cause" statement with the app or they will reject it.

There is no cost for the permit and a good cause statement is required. I don't know if they would let you know if it was rejected or not. Normally you do it at the start of the year with other paperwork.

Oh yeah sorry applied for sot at same time. I always seem to be watching for checks to clear to get an idea when stuff is being processed sorry for the confusion.

But it did only take a few weeks.

Thanks friends. I re-sent my application, and included a "good cause" letter. Maybe they won't lose it this time.
