New FFL would like to start SSE's

I'm a new FFL and I want to start doing Single-Shot-Exemptions for my customers. My main question is: How does one get started in doing this? Especially since the distributors won't ship non-roster handguns to this state. Do I have to find an out-of-state middle man who ships the handgun to me already converted?
Do some distributors convert for you? I just can't figure out how to get these guns to me so that I can convert them.

I understand that there may be some "trade secrets" involved, so if you don't want to post it publicly, can you please pm me?

    Thank in advance everyone!

Some distributors are stupid and won't ship those firearms to CA, but the firearm can be sold to exempt people or the FFL can make money and sell it out of state, so it is perfectly legal. You might want to check out other distributors.

You can do the conversion yourself, but you need to find a source of the barrels and you need to make sure that you do it right. There are some FFLs who do the conversion, such as Table Rock Arms, which makes it easier since you don't have to do any of the work, nor stock all of the parts, nor figure everything out.

I don't know of any distributor who will convert the firearms.
