I have an old barrel for a Browning shotgun. Im planning on picking up a receiver at one of the online markets (Craigslist, Armslist, etc) And custom making a stock and buying all new "internals" from Browning.

What is the process of purchasing "Parts" to a shotgun and putting those parts together to make a gun. Is there a wait for the receiver like an AR? Even if it doesn't have the internals?

The receiver is considered a firearm. [PC 16520(b)]

Therefore, the receiver needs to be transferred (4473/DROS/10 day wait) through a CA FFL dealer.
