    Selling and 'unregistering' a handgun

Having sold a handgun, is there a procedure for unregistering the gun? I have sold a gun and am shipping it to an FFL in Texas, what do I need to do to make sure I am no longer responsible for this weapon.
    Thanks!

Complete and mail a Notice Of No Longer In Possession to CA DOJ BOF.

To further the question in OP's post, If I sold my handgun in a CA face to face PPT, would the DROS for the buyer at that time be my record for 'unregistering' the handgun in CA? Thanks,

          In practice...
          Nothing gets "unregistered".
The buyer gets "registered" as the current owner and the seller gets "registered" as the previous owner.
